Litigation attorney Andrew Regenbaum focuses on medical malpractice defense and has successfully represented a variety of medical and dental professionals–including doctors, hospitals, large medical groups, dentists, podiatrists and nurses—against claims in both state and federal court. Andrew has been named to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers list every year since 2011.
Andrew Regenbaum attended Cornell University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in 1993. He then went on to Washington University School of Law where he graduated in 1996 as a member of the Order of Barristers.
Andrew was admitted to the New York State Bar, the Washington D.C. Bar and the New Jersey Bar in 1996. His career started in private practice in the Washington D.C. area. In 1998, he joined the firm of Feldman, Kleidman & Coffey LLP (today known as Feldman, Kleidman, Coffey, Sappe & Regenbaum LLP) in Fishkill, NY and is currently the firm’s managing partner. Andrew is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts, as well as the Federal District Courts of the Northern and Southern Districts of New York, the District Court of New Jersey, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Dutchess County Bar Association and the New York Medical Defense Bar Association.
In addition to defending local physicians and hospitals, Andrew’s work as a litigation attorney also includes cases of license suspension, license removal, probationary periods and letters of reprimand. Andrew is an adjunct professor of medical law at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and a guest lecturer at Marist College, where he teaches on subjects including medical errors, medical record keeping and the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). He also frequently lectures physicians on these subjects as well as HIPAA compliance.
Andrew is currently serving his second four-year term as councilman in the Town of New Windsor in Orange County. Andrew is currently a member of The Orange County Citizens Foundation. Andrew previously served on the Board of Directors of Kol Yisrael of Orange County. He is past president of the board of directors of the Cornwall Sea Dragons Swim Team, is an Empire State Swim League Official, and a Certified Official for USA Swimming. Andrew has previously volunteered as a coach for several local recreational soccer teams. Andrew resides with his wife in Orange County.
