James P. Harris

With more than 34 years of experience in the litigation field, Jim has tried hundreds of cases to verdict. He has successfully represented clients in cases involving general liability, medical malpractice, product liability and construction accidents. In 2022, he obtained a $1.5 million damage verdict for a plaintiff in Orange County, NY, which was in the top twenty premises liability verdicts in the country.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jim attended Vermont Law School. He graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1987 and was admitted to the New York State Bar the following year. Jim is also admitted to the United States Northern and Southern District Courts and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

From 1989 to 1991, Jim worked for an Orange County law firm and became partner. He founded McCarl & Harris in Goshen, NY in 1996 before establishing his own firm which he operated from 2004 to 2010. He joined the team at Feldman, Kleidman, Collins & Sappe LLP (FKC&S) in 2024 after many years of serving as a trial attorney at various firms.

Jim resides in Goshen, NY with his wife Janet, a retired banker. Their two grown children serve as a medical doctor and a veterinarian.
